The FIB1-1000TG Giga Ethernet is an extremely versatile optical fiber media converter for 1000Base-T to 1000Base-SX/LX/LHX/ZX or WDM/CWDM that also provides NMS functions for Link-Loss-Forwarding, Remote-Monitoring-Status, and Loop-Back-Test. These optional features are especially useful when the standalone units are linked to one of our rack type units with SNMP management. FIB1-1000TG can accomodate any type of GBIC optical modules, offering unparalleled flexibility and easy migration from short-haul to long haul fiber connections by simply changing the optical module interface. Thanks to the FIB1-1000TG, any old GBIC modules can now get used in new fiber applications. The Gigabit copper interface has only 1000 Mbps speed but is able to handle special "Jumbo" packets of up to 9K size.

The uniqueness of FIB1-1000TG Gigabit Ethernet is given by the ability to convert from standalone media converter to card for FRM301 chassis, in matter of minutes. In an always changing and growing networking environment, such a versatile feature allows network operators to switch to higher density and aggregation hubs without the need to purchase new fiber optic converters.
