Product description
The FIB1-232 is a media converter for RS-232 high-speed synchronous and asynchronous data interface transmission over optical fiber media.

FIB1-232 model is available in a wide range of SC type optical modules, covering operating distances from 2Km up to 120Km. The media converter is also available for WDM single strand fiber optic connections in 4 different flavors. FIB1-232 works with the FRM301 rack with SNMP management, the card status, type, version, fiber link status, data link status and alarms can all be displayed. Configuration is also available to enable or disable the port, reset the port, set the data rate, modify the clock mode, and initiate local or far end loop back tests.

The uniqueness of FIB1 series is given by the ability to convert from standalone media converters to cards for FRM301 chassis, in matter of minutes. In an always changing and growing networking environment, such a versatile feature allows network operators to switch to higher density and aggregation hubs without the need to purchase new fiber optic converters. This simple, but so reliable idea, made the FIB1 series media converters the perfect choice of media converters by data carriers and service providers.

The available models are: Multimode 1310nm - 2Km, Singlemode 1310nm - 15Km and WDM A/B - 20Km.
