FIB1-1000DS, the Universal Fiber Optic media converter receives positive feedback from market

Portland, Oregon, July 19th, 2007 - Since its launching on market more than a month ago, the FIB1-1000DS caught attention of professional network designers with its extreme versatility in fiber optic interfaces.

The FIB1-1000DS can be also called an Universal fiber media converter. Unit can accommodate any type of SFP optical modules covering various data interfaces like Fast and Giga Ethernet, FDDI, STM-1, STM-4, OC1, OC3, OC12, OC24 and 1G Fibre Channel. The media converter is offering unparalleled flexibility and easy migration from short-haul to long haul fiber connections by simply changing the optical module interface.

Multimode fiber optic connections can be switched to singlemode, WDM or CWDM optical signals. Applications for FIB1-1000DS also include repeating functions on optical links when needed, if optical budget is too short and a fiber circuit can accomodate an active repeater.

More details on this product, already tested by active customers in various environments like Ethernet, SDH and Fibre Channel can be found visiting the product page here.
