FMC VDSL2 LAN Extender - adding copper solutions to the low cost FMC fiber chassisPortland, Oregon, May 6th, 2008 - RAL Communications Corp., a dedicated distributor of fiber optic data communication equipments is now launching the new VDSL2 LAN Extender for FMC chassis, with a very competitive cost, small size and local monitor features.
The new VDSL2 Ethernet bridge extender has same size as any FMC series fiber media converters and fits into the FMC-CH08 central chassis. The VDSL2 Extender allows Ethernet networks to be also expanded over copper at stunning performances. Using DMT technology, the VDTU2A-301 VDSL2 extender can provide data transfer rates that almost match the Fast Ethernet standard on distances up to 300m. It is able to deliver true Ethernet 10Mbps duplex on copper lines up to 1Km. Its extremely affordable pricing stays in line with all other FMC converters, bringing true value and affordable solutions for almost every budget. The VDTU2A-301 is a VDSL2 Ethernet bridge extender that works either as a standalone device or as a card that can be inserted into the FMC-CH08 aggregation chassis. The
VDTU2A-301 VDSL2 Ethernet modem is able to operate on copper wires up to 2.5Km distance. Is is able to work on symmetric or asymmetric data flows, depending on the line performance or the application demand. Same unit can be set either as CO or CPE device using the front DIP switches.
Another strong feature of the newly launched FMC series is the ability to aggregate in small 8 port chassis, the
FMC-CH08. The chassis allows a single power supply for up to 8 media converters, occupies only 2U height and can be installed together with another FMC-CH08 chassis, side by side into a 19" rack mount system. This feature makes the FMC converters a perfect choice for small fiber data aggregation nodes where fiber management is not needed.
FMC series of equipment is perfectly suitable for either small Internet Service Providers or System Integrators installing fiber connections or DSL copper networking in narrow spaces and without a dedicated management system running. Its small capacity makes it a perfect choice for rural areas, as well as small office datacenters.
Although Fiber Media Converters are not the hottest technologies in communications, we strongly believe the new FMC series has all strengths to become a very successful product in US market, due to its very affordable price and excellent reliability offered by a dedicated communications manufacturer such as CTCUnion Technologies Co.
